The Comité du patrimoine de Bromptonville Inc.’s aim is to protect the cultural and historic heritage of the former Town of Bromptonville, which was merged with the Ville de Sherbrooke as a result of the law on municipal mergers that came into effect on January 2002.
Founded in the late 1950s by a citizens’ initiative, the Comité du patrimoine de Bromptonville adopted an operating charter in1985. This same year, it officially became a non-profit corporation and was registered with the Quebec’s enterprise register (REQ).
In 2014, the Comité du patrimoine de Bromptonville Inc. introduced an interactive way to discover local history: Brompton’s Heritage Route.
